Worthy of Note

Have you ever noticed how apologetic people seem to be when their answer to a colleague's friendly "how was your weekend?" involves only quiet doings close to home? It's almost as though we're afraid to be labelled as "boring" or "nerdy" if we confess to not partying 24/7 during our off-hours. Why is that???

  1. Because if you don't party 24/7 you are boring or nerdy. Think of it this way. Perhaps you want to and you can't (no friends, no money, no motivation) - that's something to apologize for. On the other hand, maybe you don't want to and you don't - that's boring.

People only ask you how your weekend was in the hopes they can live vicariously through your wild partying or feel better that they are boring by comparison.

    I ramble.
